Renaissance

Jostens Renaissance is a system set in place to improve academics in today’s schools.   All people need positive reinforcement to help motivate positive behaviors.

Williamstown High School adopted the Jostens Renaissance system because of the structural support it offers schools in motivating students to improve their academics and citizenship, as well as invigorating teacher enthusiasm. 

Jostens Renaissance at WHS has a general assembly of students who are diligently working on the development of incentives and activities for our school.

How To Earn Renaissance Status Each Marking Period

Black:  The top of the line all access pass!  
Non-Weighted GPA of 93 or higher;
No more than 2 full-day occurrence of absence;
No more than 2 late to school per quarter;
No disciplinary referrals;
No report card grades lower than a C; Valid proof of school or community service

Blue:  Great earning potential!
Non-Weighted GPA of 85 to 92.99;
No more than 2 full-day occurrence of absence;
No more than 2 late to school per quarter;
No disciplinary referrals;
No report card grades lower than a C; Valid proof of school or community service

White:  A step in the right direction! 
Non-Weighted GPA of 77-84.99;
No more than 2 full-day occurrence of absence;
No more than 2 late to school per quarter;
No disciplinary referrals;
No report card grades lower than a C; Valid proof of school or community service

Enhancing Our School Experience with School Wide Activities
Red Carpet Welcome– Upon their arrival on the first day of school, they will be welcomed with a red carpet and teacher applause. 

WingBowl—2nd Marking Period Renaissance card holders are invited to watch the annual WingBowl on December 21st.  They are also welcome to participate for free.  Any student can form a team for a $7 per person fee.

Rent a Romeo—Upstanding young men volunteer to act as a gentleman for a day for fellow WHS student.  All participants are invited to participate in our Healthy  Relationships Assembly.

Staffulty of the Month– Staff nominate other staff members who help make WHS a better place to learn and work.  The Renaissance General Assembly chooses five monthly recipients from the nominations.

People’s Choice Awards– Teachers nominate a student to attend and receive an award.  Teachers make a speech about their nominee and present him or her with an award.
