School Supplies
In an effort to make parent purchases of school supplies more meaningful, the staff of Holly Glen
School has developed a list of items that can be used in September of 2012. The list below is optional.
The school supplies everything your child needs in order to support the learning process. However, we
realize that many parents like to purchase supplies for the first day of school (Friday, September 7,
2012).
A copy of this list will be sent to Shop-Rite, Wal-Mart, Staples, Office Max, K-Mart, Walgreens, CVS and
Target for your shopping convenience.

The Physical Education teachers would like to inform you about proper sneakers for PE
class:
Heely’s (even without heels) are NOT accepted in PE class because of their heavy weight and
their effect on the way children run. Skate shoes (such as Etnies, DC, Vans, and Element) are also
discouraged in PE class because of the weight of the sneaker and the laces are not secured tightly,
causing a safety concern for students. All sneakers should have a tongue (fully covering the students
foot) and be on the student’s feet securely with laces or Velcro. Slip-ons or unlaced sneakers that easily
slip off will NOT be acceptable. |
