Dear Parents and Guardians,

We welcome you and your children to the Holly Glen Elementary School family!  Holly Glen has been providing quality education to the Monroe Township community for over 40 years!  Our teachers and staff provide a quality instructional program for your children, one that meets their needs academically, emotionally, and socially.

At Holly Glen School, the faculty and parents work together to meet the students in an inclusive learning environment, which incorporates the Five Core Values of Respect, Responsibility, Caring, Trust, and Family, as we come together as a Community of Caring school.  Because of our belief of educating the “whole child,” and our high academic standards, in 2005-2006 Holly Glen was awarded the prestigious NJ Governor’s School of Excellence Award, as well as the NJ School of Character Honorable Mention in 2006-2007 and 2007-2008, and in 2011 the Promising Practices Award.

We welcome parents, grandparents, and community participation and support during the school year and solicit membership in the Holly Glen Home & School Association (H.S.A.).  All members of the Holly Glen community should consider becoming a school volunteer.  If you are interested, contact Mrs. Patricia Skalka at 856-728-8706, x4129, or email her at pskalka@monroetwp.k12.nj.us, or Mrs. Rosa Gariffo, H.S.A. President at 856-262-7949, or email her at scorp1574@comcast.net.   Working together, we will be able to reach our collective and individual goals.  Speaking of goals, please review our school-wide goals for the 2011-2012 school year.  You will also find our Mission Statement and School Motto on Page 1 of our Parent-Student Handbook (which is also on our website), which we believe reflects our staff’s vision in the education of Holly Glen students.  To obtain further information on Holly Glen School, preview Holly Glen At A Glance and the links to the school’s report card.

We are very proud of the students at Holly Glen School.  The K-4 curriculum is guided by the NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards.  The students work diligently in all curricular areas and also have an opportunity to participate in many clubs and co-curricular areas as well.  Technology is an important tool for many the subject areas, as we have a fully equipped computer lab, laptop carts with wireless internet access, and portable distance learning equipment to enhance learning through “virtual” field trips.  Additionally, the school debuted Holly Glen TV in the spring of 2007, which enables students to “produce” a real-live TV show, in a closed circuit broadcast.

A complete list of our teaching staff and their telephone extensions and email addresses are included on our website.  If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions, please feel free to contact the administration, or any staff member.  We hope the information in this website helps you.

On behalf of the entire Holly Glen Elementary School faculty, we truly believe we are “Building a Bridge to the Future,” and we welcome you to the Holly Glen School family!

Sincerely,
