What do you get when you mix equal parts hard work, focus, and enthusiasm? The answer to that question is very simple!! You get the loudest, most jaw dropping pep rally of all time. Students at Radix Elementary School got the chance to prepare themselves one final time before the ever so important New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge Test by participating in a third grade vs. fourth grade pep rally. The focus of the pep rally was to get the students pumped up about taking the tests while simultaneously gaining additional knowledge that would help their overall performance. Students participated in numerous academically challenging face offs while also having a chance to cheer on their grade level. Points were scored by the grade level that cheered the loudest, sang the best, and correctly answered the ASK modeled questions supplied by their classroom teachers. Performances by the Williamstown High School cheerleading squad added additional excitement to the already ecstatic students of Radix. In the end, the third and fourth grade students were deadlocked in a tie. Although there was no definitive winner, all students came out on top as they exited the gymnasium full of confidence, knowledge, and the determination to do the best they possibly can. |
