Radix's December Newsletter

Radix's December Newsletter

At this time of year we are bombarded with ads and constant reminders of the importance of finding the “perfect” gifts. Please remember…

An education is the best gift we can give to our children; as the most beautiful thing about learning is that no one can ever take it away!

At this festive time of year, the staff and I wish you and your family a very joyful holiday season.  Despite the fact that many families are struggling during this time of economic distress, there are many gifts to be thankful for- the gifts of children, family, caring teachers, a quality education, and more.

During the week of December 4-8, students in grades 1-4 will be dismissed at 1:20 to allow for parent conferences.  Kindergarten and Pre-School children will attend at their REGULAR time (a.m. or p.m.). As our first marking period is ending, and parents will have the opportunity to discuss the academic status of their children, our hope is that students who have been struggling will begin to understand what it takes to be successful.  We want ALL children to learn, feel successful, and make progress.  I believe ALL CAN!

Just walking through the halls of Radix makes me very proud of the accomplishments of our students so far this year.  Each display is a window into the soul of the class, giving each observer an idea of the intelligence, the creativity, the sense of humor, and the skill and talent of our kids.  Each child truly is a gift.

Please join the school community for the upcoming events- Holiday Shoppe (December 11-15), which students will visit during the day, and families are welcome to visit Thursday evening, December 14th from 6:00-8:00 pm.  Our Winter Concert this year will occur on December 19th at 7:00 p.m.  All are welcome!  Being a part of the school community is not only a worthwhile experience for you and your child, but it is enjoyable!

Remember December 22nd is an early dismissal day.  Grades 1-4 will be dismissed at 1:20; ALL kindergarten students (a.m. and p.m.) will attend from 8:55-11:25.

Lastly, for those who may be interested in attending the next PACE (PArents Caring about Education) meeting, please mark your calendar for Saturday, January 20, 9:30 a.m.  This is an opportunity for parents/guardians to discuss concerns and ideas about our school community with me, Dr. DelConte.

All the best from me and the entire Radix Family—

Have a Very Happy Holiday, and a Healthy and Prosperous New Year!
