Board of Education 

Our school board is dedicated to fostering an environment where every student can achieve academic excellence and personal growth in a safe and supportive setting.

As elected representatives of our community, we are committed to making informed decisions that shape the future of our schools. Our responsibilities include:

  • Policy Development: Crafting and implementing policies that promote high educational standards and equity.
  • Budget Oversight: Ensuring that financial resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to support student learning and well-being.
  • Superintendent Supervision: Collaborating with and providing oversight for the Superintendent to ensure the district's strategic goals are met.
  • Curriculum and Instruction: Evaluating and approving curricula that meet the diverse needs of our students and prepare them for future success.
  • Facilities Management: Overseeing the maintenance and improvement of school facilities to provide a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Community Engagement: Encouraging active participation from parents, students, teachers, and community members to foster a collaborative educational community.

Location - Remaining 2025/26 BOE Meetings

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the remaining 2025/26 regular meetings of the Monroe Township Board of Education, in the County of Gloucester, will be held in person in the Saybrook central administration building, and will begin at 6 p.m. with the public portion of the meeting beginning at approximately 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Any change in meeting location and/or time will be posted on the district website at Monroe Township Public Schools.

New Jersey law provides for special education and related services, for children from birth through age twenty-one, who have identified a handicapping condition and/or a measurable developmental impairment.  The law designates local boards of education, as responsible for identifying these children, and providing information regarding available services and programs offered by state, county, and local agencies. 

Preschool children, who have reached the age of three, and meet the criteria, as established by the law and determined by the local Child Study Team through a testing process, are eligible for special education programs and related services through the local school district.

If you have knowledge of any child who you suspect that may have measurable developmental impairments, please contact, or have the parent/guardian contact:

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
MONROE TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT
PUBLIC NOTICE

The Monroe Township School District of Gloucester County, New Jersey is seeking proposals for the following services from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.  The understanding of the parties with respect to the services and fee arrangements are to be set forth in a formal agreement.

  • Architect of Record
  • Board Auditor
  • Board Solicitor
  • Bond Counsel
  • Engineer of Record
  • Financial Advisory Services
  • Healthcare Broker

A copy of the Request For Proposal may be requested by contacting Jo Ann Matienko, School Business Administrator/ Board Secretary at 856-629-6400 ext. 1045 between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, or emailing your request to proposal@monroetwp.k12.nj.us. The above noted RFP’s can also be found on the district website at Monroe Twp Website. Please note the school district will be closed from April 3 through April 12, 2026.

The deadline for proposals is 10:00 am, TUESDAY, APRIL 14, 2026.

The Board reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and waive any informality in the process.
