A little taste of the farmers market came to Holly Glen! 🍎🥦🥕🎃
Throughout the day, Pre-K through fourth-grade classes made their way through tables filled with fresh fruits and vegetables, choosing what they wanted to take home and filling their own bags along the way.
There were tomatoes, grapes, potatoes, squash, broccoli, carrots, pumpkins and plenty more. Some went straight for familiar favorites, while others stopped to check out something new, compare picks with friends or get a closer look at produce they may not usually see in its fresh, whole form.
This farmers market has been making its way through Monroe’s elementary schools for over five years thanks to Monroe's Director of Dining, Nancy Fallon-Rodriguez, and this year it was Holly Glen’s turn to host.
It’s such a great way to introduce our youngest Braves to fresh foods, let them explore at their own pace, and send a little bit of that experience home with them.
A big thank-you to Nancy, our Chartwells team, local farm partners including Pineland Farms in Hammonton, and the parent and family volunteers who helped make the day happen.
By the end, there were plenty of full bags, lots of excited conversations, and fresh produce heading home with Holly Glen families. 💙
