Phones, tablets, game controllers, scooters and power tools are part of everyday life, and a few simple charging habits can make a difference.
For Fire Prevention Week, October 4–10, MTPS is sharing this year’s NFPA focus, “Charge Into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower.” Families can swipe through for quick reminders about using the right charger, choosing a hard, flat charging surface, unplugging fully charged devices, and recognizing signs that a battery may be damaged.
Fire safety will also be part of the school day this week, with our annual Fire Prevention Assembly & Fire Truck Visit events at the elementary schools.
Families are also invited to Monroe Township Fire Prevention Night on Tuesday, October 6, from 7–9 p.m. at 555 S Main St. in Williamstown, hosted by the Williamstown & Cecil Fire Departments.
More fire-safety resources are available at fpw.org and nfpa.org.
