Fire Safety Week brought some familiar faces to Radix Elementary as members of the Williamstown Fire Department spent time with students and staff.

Students reviewed important fire safety steps, including stop, drop, cover and roll, and talked through what to do if they ever find themselves in an emergency.

One of the most valuable parts of the visit was simply getting to see firefighters up close in their full gear. The equipment can look and sound very different during an emergency, so meeting firefighters in a familiar setting helps our younger students understand who is coming to help them.

Of course, the fire truck was a highlight too. Students got an up-close look at the truck and some of the tools and equipment firefighters carry with them every day.

Thank you to the Williamstown Fire Department for spending time with all of our elementary students and for the work you do throughout our community all year long.
