Today, Williamstown High School students stepped into an educational experience that challenged them to reflect on history in a deeply personal and meaningful way through the Hate Ends Now Cattle Car exhibit.

Classes rotated through two parts of the presentation. In one portion, students participated in a conversational lesson led by representatives from Hate Ends Now, an organization dedicated to Holocaust education and combating antisemitism through immersive learning experiences. During the session, students examined World War II-era Nazi propaganda artifacts while discussing the lasting impact of misinformation, prejudice, and silence.

The collection included altered children’s storybooks, clocks produced in the United States during that era, and personal belongings connected to victims, each serving as a powerful reminder that history is deeply human and personal.

Students also visited the recreated cattle car, where they took in a 360-degree immersive video presentation. Through first-person accounts from Holocaust survivors and their families, the experience encouraged students to listen closely, reflect deeply, and consider the importance of preserving these stories for future generations.

We are thankful to the Esther Raab Holocaust Museum & Goodwin Education Center and the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey for bringing this important learning experience to WHS today, and for giving our students the chance to engage with history in a memorable way.
