The Law and Justice Academy Summer Seminars provided students with meaningful, hands-on experiences that brought the criminal justice system to life through real-world application.

Law and Justice Academy I students spent three days exploring careers in law enforcement and public safety. Their experience included firearm safety and decision-making training at the gun range, visits to the Gloucester County Dispatch Center and Animal Control, a tour of the Monroe Township Police Department, and attendance at the Atlantic City Police Security Expo, where students explored current technology, equipment, and career pathways in the field.

Law and Justice Academy II students participated in a Mock Trial Seminar focused on the judicial system. Students engaged in each stage of the trial process, delivering opening and closing statements, conducting direct and cross-examinations, and serving as attorneys and witnesses in a realistic courtroom setting.

Special thanks to Sergeant Darcangelo, Officer Martucci, Officer Marsh, Officer Kuz, and the Monroe Township Police Department for their partnership and support. We also extend our appreciation to Mr. Nottis, Mrs. Giles, Mr. Rue, Mrs. King, and Mrs. Torcasio for serving as judges and helping create an authentic courtroom experience for our students.

These seminars continue to provide students with valuable, real-world learning experiences that strengthen their understanding of both law enforcement and the judicial system while building skills that prepare them for future careers in public safety and law.
